An artificial reef is created offshore Jacksonville. A barge loaded with 700 tons of recycled concrete material was trasported to an offshore permitted reef location roughly 12 miles East of the coast of Micklers Beach in Ponte Vedra. The concrete material was placed on the sea floor creating Jacksonville's Newest artificial reef!

Soon this reef will evolve into thriving marine habitat creating an underwater Oasis teaming with life The new reef will benefit the marine environment, fishing and diving industries, tourism, and the local economy.
