TISIRI's Joe Kistel and Ed Kalakauskis attended the Jacksonville International boat show this past weekend. Our representatives were stationed next to Jacksonville Offshore Sports Fishing Club booth. With eye-catching graphics as their ammunition, Kistel and Kalakauskis provided artificial reef insight to boat show patrons.
On Saturday they provided a seminar in which the history and types of artificial reef structures off the coast of Jacksonville were explained. Intended upcoming projects and how to get involved were also explained.
Kistel had a chance to meet Jacksonville Jaguars David Garrard on Saturday. As a fisherman himself, Garrard expressed interest in artificial reefs and TISIRI’s efforts. TISIRI hopes for further involvement with Garrard regarding artificial reef projects.
Capt. Don Dingman, of Hook the Future, was also onsite providing his fishing seminar for children. Kistel had a chance to discuss TISIRI artificial reef efforts and Dingman thought there could be some collaboration between our organizations. TISIRI will continue to communicate with Dingman and Hook the Future in an attempt to join efforts.
For those of you who attended our seminar and/or had discussions with Kistel or Kalakauskis, we thank you for your time. Please follow-up with the instructions they provided or through our contact methods within the webpage. Thanks
