If you have spent a significant amount of time fishing or diving off the coast of Florida you have probably taken advantage of artificial reefs. While utilizing these sites for recreation, it is easy to think you are taking advantage of a free resource. Truth is, artificial reef sites are the result of countless hours of efforts including planning, preparing, use of heavy machinery, and much more. There are significant costs associated with artificial reef creation.
TISIRI is a nonprofit corporation structured to raise money to fund reef projects. The services and requests below provide the necessary vital funding for our endeavors.
TISIRI is currently looking for the following items/services. In exchange for contributions TISIRI will offer marketing opportunity. Please contact us if you are able to help us in our reef making efforts.
TISIRI is in need of an area to store acquired concrete. Concrete structures make great artificial reef material since it is very similar in composition to the natural substrate found offshore Florida. At times we are offered smaller quantities of concrete when we are not immediately ready to deploy. Unfortunately, we have had to turn some of these opportunities down because we did not have the facilities to temporary store the material. We would like an area where we could bring in quantities of concrete and store it until we are ready to make an offshore deployment. The site should be relatively large with the ability to bring heavy equipment such as cranes, bob cats, and front end-loaders.
Promotional items and services:
In an effort to raise artificial reef project funding TISIRI host contest type events. We are always in need of award “gifts.” These “gifts” can be anything of value including but not limited to; gift certificates, products, and or services. Items do not have to be related to marine interest. If you, your company, or someone you know might be willing to contribute such items please contact us to discuss. Items of all value ranges will be considered.
